System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 - An Intro

As an IT Professionals we need to keep an eye on all of Servers, Applications, Service etc. We also need to know how are the Servers, Hardware and Applications Performing. So time its very difficult to find the faults and errors which cause server crash, slow performance of the servers. At that time we need some Monitoring Solution which can keep his eye on our IT Infrastructure.

In my company we have approx 100 Servers and all of them are windows based. The current monitoring solution which we are using in reactive and we want proactive solution. To solve our purpose we choose System Center Operations manager 2007 R2.

I am using SCOM for:
  • Monitor all of My Network Switches
  • Monitor all windows base Servers
  • Monitor Exchange server 
  • Monitor SQL Server
  • Monitor NetApp SAN
  • Monitor Riverbed Caching Device
  • Monitor some Web URL and TCP Ports
  • and setup synthetic transactions  to monitor Business App
Our Next Step is to  Install System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2
